About Volta
We believe well engineered systems create stability and confidence throughout a project’s lifecycle. For nearly three decades, Volta has supported design and construction teams by delivering electrical solutions that prioritize safety, performance, and long term reliability.
Our Story
OUR HISTORY
In the 90s, founder William Bethurum IV cut his teeth in LA building oil refineries and large semiconductor projects for Jacobs Engineering. The engineering firm was started shortly afterward in 1996 under the name Industrial Power Engineering Corporation, a big title for a small company at the time. Over the next 30 years, the firm has expanded to other industries, built larger and larger projects, survived two recessions, rebuilt, rebranded, made a bunch of mistakes along the way, and ultimately came to where it is today as Volta, serving international clients and engineering facilities with sizes approaching $2B TCV.
OUR EXPERTISE
Our team of engineers and technicians design electrical and life safety systems for complex facilities, bringing deep industrial and mission-critical experience to every project. We strengthen design teams through long-standing collaborations with trusted mechanical, plumbing, technology, and EMI consulting partners who share our commitment to precision and performance.
OUR MISSION
Our purpose is to create infinite possibilities, beginning with our people and extending to our clients, stakeholders, and projects through the work we deliver. Together, as one team, we are a powerful force.
Our Values
We believe how we work matters as much as what we deliver. These principles guide our decisions, our collaboration, and our commitment to engineering work that performs under real world conditions.
Attitude
We enjoy our work. We believe in the impact our business has and will have on all of our stakeholders. We face challenges with confidence as a team.
Offense
We push limits. We thrive on adventure, challenges, and risk taking. We are innovators continuously looking for ways to improve. We question the status quo.
Fortitude
We focus on the details in order to execute flawlessly. We are accountable. You will find us through good and tough times, from start to finish.
Alliance
We build relationships based on loyalty and respect. We treat everyone like a client. We mentor with tactic and wisdom. We value the individual.
Force For Good
We fight for the underdog. We elevate our stakeholders. We operate beyond expectations.
The Senior Team
Volta is led by a multidisciplinary team of engineers and technical professionals with deep experience in complex electrical systems. Our leadership remains actively involved in project strategy, coordination, and quality control, ensuring every engagement reflects the standards Volta is known for.
